Better Burger: Better Than Really Bad

Better Burger's niche is making a "healthy" and organic fast food burger. Their meat and poultry are "antibiotic, hormone and nitrate free (organic where specified)," which sounds like we just got played.

Their burgers seem as healthy as any other burger but slapping them on organic whole-wheat buns, counts for something, apparently. Toppings run standard, with tomato, delicious pickles, and a translucent leaf of lettuce that I had to fold three times so that it would not overlap the burger. In doing so, I noticed within the lettuce folds, collected canals of bloody burger grease. Repulsive. Needless to say, I did eat it, mostly enjoyed it, and it did make my July 4th hangover feel better.

The periphery food was just as bad. As soon as the fries cooled, they turned stale. Plus, Better Burger serves its own ketchup concoction called, Karma Ketchup. Considering that Karma Ketchup might be slathered on a dead cow, this cannot be the best possible name for the ketchup. Bex reports on the Heniz-Karma Taste Test Challenge below.

Better Burger's Chelsea restaurant location attempted to appeal to its clientele by playing gay gym music. The music ranged from gems like "Pump Up the Jam" to annoying 80's hits reincarnated as even more annoying remixes. I am hoping their Murray Hill location rocks Bon Jovi. It should be noted that our pseudo-waiter was wearing an MTA uniform, not the Better Burger uniform, which created confusion as to his actual employer. If he works both jobs, he deserves huge tips. So, Anna rates:

Roger: This place is definitely not Roger friendly. First of all, they asked me not to take photographs. Minus one cow. I order my burger plain with cheese, and they bring me a burger with everything on it. Minus one cow. They don't have Heinz ketchup. Minus one cow. So right off the bat this place is looking at 2 cows at best. So I'm gonna be nice because of the music and give it 2 cows and a calf.

Bex:

Heinz-Karma Taste Test Challenge: I brought my own Heinz ketchup. Ok, so I borrowed some packets from a big not-to-be-named fast food chain. The results are in:

Heinz RULES. Karma Ketchup=Bad Karma.
